Altar Angels

Prior to major liturgical holidays, the alter angels polish and shine the church building. The more angels helping, the faster cleaning goes. Community developed while ministering to the house of the Lord is a most satisfying kind.

Adoration

Yolanda Martinez
501-687-4427
Eucharistic adoration is held in the chapel currently located in the basement of the parish offices, 801 Sherman Street. New Adorers are welcomed. Please call Yolanda at 501-687-4427 for open time slots. The exterior entrance to the Eucharistic Chapel is on the north side of the parish office building facing the new school. The code on the door lock changes periodically. It will be provided to you by Yolanda, or if you call the church office.
An hour of adoration is held from 5 – 6 p.m. in the main Church on Tuesday evenings preceding the 6 p.m. English Mass.
Adoration is a wonderful opportunity to converse intimately with Jesus. The Eucharist is exposed in the chapel from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Because of this, someone should be there at all times adoring him. You may bring a spiritual book, your rosary, bible, prayer book or use any of the spiritual booklets that are in the chapel. If you are alone, you may pray out loud or quietly. If there are others in the chapel, you may want to recite the rosary together. Please be considerate of those who may need or want quiet time. If you must leave before the next adorer comes, please close the tabernacle door and lock the chapel door. Candles are not permitted in the chapel due to the fire hazard. We have substitutes who can fill in when needed, so don’t let the commitment stop you.
Please consider spending one hour a week in prayer with Our Lord.

Weddings

According to Diocesan Policy dated April 1, 2006, parishioners wishing to marry must contact the parish office for an appointment with the Pastor at least six (6) months ahead of the intended date. Once the pastor determines the engaged couple’s readiness to marry, a date may be set and the church reserved. At that point, the couple will be put in touch with St. Edwards wedding coordinator and the parish organist. Fees and stipends will be discussed then.

Funerals

Contact St. Edwards pastor at the parish office to make arrangements. Please call 501-374-5767. After hours, follow the voice prompts for emergencies.

Anointing of the Sick and Visits to the Homebound

The pastor makes pastoral visits and distributes Holy Communion to the Homebound on the First Friday of the Month. Please contact the office if you cannot get to Mass and would like Father to visit.
For sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, contact the parish office. A sick parishioner desiring prayer may contact the office for inclusion in the weekly bulletin’s Prayer List. Deadline for the next Sunday’s bulletin is the previous week.
